MODERN BOULDER LOFT
The firm's owner designed this loft for himself, his wife Gail, and their two grown sons who come home for long visits. Moving from a suburan ranch house, zoning of spaces was crucial to help the family adapt to a new urban lifestyle. The loft provides clear separation between the master bedroom suite, the guest/family area and the public spaces. This was critical for parents who go to bed early and their children who stay up most of the night. The loft reflects the personalities of the family with spaces ranging from sculptural and whimsical, to formal and orderly. Color and materials are added to the canvas of white walls as paint is added to a cubist art. Ceilings are kept clean of clutter and are raised in the living room and master bedroom. Window shades are hidden in recess pockets. In this loft, art, architecture and interior design become one.
This project recieved an award in 2011 from the American Society of Interior Designers for a Residence Under 3,000 sf.
